Forman’s focus carries him to state championship, Player of the Year honors
TROY – Troy sophomore Brett Forman has lost tennis matches to Detroit Catholic Central’s Joe Dube on more than one occasion. But he won the one that counted in October when he defeated his friend and rival 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 to capture the Division 1 state championship at No. 1 singles.

Shimkus-Gober team in state tournament
SPRINGFIELD — The Helias doubles team of Danica Shimkus and Abby Gober will start play today in the Class 1 Doubles Tournament. Shimkus and Gober will face the Visitation Academy team of Samantha Hornbarger and Jocelyn Koester in the opening round of the event at the Cooper Tennis Complex.

Detroit Catholic Central wins first boys state tennis title since 1986
