It is the first time in the history of sport a sports complex was named after a female professional athlete.
Considering other woman have made thier mark in profesional/amateur sport, Babe Dedrickson, Wilma Rudolph, Dorothy Hamil, etc., is the naming of a sports complex after a woman athlete long overdue.
