Tennis Lessons For Juniors – Yanni’s Backhand 021710

Junior Tennis Instruction – Video Tennis Instruction – Tennis Tips Yanni’s footwork is improving, so his contact point on his backhand is improving. I’ve gotten input from coaches saying that a kids moving around like this will form bad habits… I think it keeps a kid’s head in the game… no time to rest the mind or let the mind wander. Comments welcome!

Tennis Instruction – Decision-making drills – Creative Tennis DVD

The game of tennis is full of decisions. They can be broken down into two categories. First, there is an entire set of decisions to make for incoming balls, and then there is an entirely different set of decisions to make for balls we are hitting. In fact, with every single incoming ball, we have to make decisions. These types of decisions are also described as anticipation and judgment, all critical skills that allow players to prepare earlier and therefore play better tennis. The opposite of making decisions on balls we hit is something we’ve all experienced. You hit a winning shot and your opponent says, “Wow, great shot!” But, you know you had no plan and no idea where you were going to hit it. It was pure luck! www.oncourtoffcourt.com

High School Tennis – Anthony’s Lefty Loop Forehand 121010

High School Tennis – Tennis Tips – Lefty Forehand Anthony, the energy was low from the beginning… I left in the 10 seconds or so at the beginning of you just standing there… then all of a sudden, going into the drill. Feet moving at all times in between shots. When the feet are slow… you get a late start to the ball… if you get a late start, your set-up will be late… if your setup is late, then your contact point is way off. That’s where we get the elbow swing/hip turn from. Comments welcome.
